Data Protection Executive

Reporting to the DP&C Operations Manager, the Data Protection Executive is responsible for handling and leading the day-to-day DP&C operational matters, including data subject requests, personal data breaches, risk and impact assessments, compliance related queries from the business, and DP&C Office maintenance. The role will also support DP&C related projects and initiatives as required.

What you’ll do

  • Handling subject right requests and customer queries/complaints. Maintaining procedures and SLAs for handling data access requests, right to be forgotten requests and recording all relevant information on the internal database.
  • Collaborating closely with other departments to collect all data necessary to meet SLAs. Building knowledge of SAR exemptions to ensure exemptions are applied correctly.
  • Continuously reviewing subject rights requests procedures to ensure adherence to all requirements and to drive continuous improvement in existing processes.
  • Management of identified potential data breaches, including, as required, risk assessment, raising issues to DP Operations leadership and other internal customers, reporting to regulators, communications with affected data subjects, and working with business owners on risk mitigation.
  • Administration and maintenance of software management tools, of records (incl. ROPA), of inventories and logs (e.g. SARs, breaches, etc.), of privacy notices, of cookie banners and records, DP Operations-owned controls and measures, and any other
  • Assisting the DP Manager with analysis, measurement and reporting on DP&C Operations.
  • Adding to internal projects, to ensure organisational compliance with all processes and procedures.

How you’ll do it

  • Qualified, or demonstrable desire to qualify, through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in data protection/privacy (CIPP/e, CIPM or CIPP/T) and AI (AIGP).
  • Proven knowledge and experience in data protection, privacy and AI;
  • Experience working in a data protection/privacy, legal, customer operations, compliance, audit/assurance, risk or similar function within a large enterprise;
  • Experience in operational case/ticket management (e.g. complaints, subject access requests, incidents, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
