As a Databricks specialist, you'll play a vital role in owning our Databricks strategy and how we use it to innovate across our industry-leading brands. Design and develop robust data frameworks, power real-time data pipelines, and create data services that deliver actionable insights to our global customer base.
What you’ll be doing
As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:
· Create and own a Databricks strategy for the group, ensuring that the use of the product is aligned with business goals and leveraged to maximize value.
· Serve as the owner and responsible person for all Databricks-related activities, acting as the architect across the Data Engineering, Data Analytics, and Data Science teams.
· Bridge the gap between teams by setting up templates and frameworks for seamless collaboration, data sharing, and enablement aligned with the product vision.
· Manage Unity catalogue, including permissions, usage, paths, locations, and implementation, ensuring data accessibility, security, and reliability.
· Provide guidance, support, and training to teams regarding Databricks usage, offering best practices, monitoring, and cost management/optimization strategies.
· Monitor usage of the databricks platform to inform decisions on deprecation, resource allocation and cost control.

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table

· Highly advanced Databricks platform expertise (architecture, administration, optimization)
· Unity catalogue management experience (permissions, usage, paths, locations, implementation, communication)
· Databricks usage guidance, monitoring, cost management/optimization
· Key Stakeholder management and communication
· Experience in delivering effective Databricks training sessions
· Sharing best practices, establishing governance frameworks
· Familiarity with Azure cloud hosting platforms and Databricks integration
Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve
It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:
· In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends
· Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations
· Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards
· Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies
