We are looking for a mid- to senior-level Journalist specialising in gaming to join our team. As a SiGMA News journalist, you will be responsible for researching, writing, editing and publishing B2B online news articles in Italian, focusing on the Italian and European market to inform and engage our audience. Your primary focus will be on delivering creating engaging and informative articles, blog posts, and other written materials related to gaming. This role requires a keen understanding of journalistic principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
iGaming journalist responsibilities (European focus) – Italian language
- Research, write, and publish in-depth, analytical articles and reports on industry-specific topics that provide insights and forecast industry developments, focusing on Italy and Europe.
- Plan and conduct regular interviews with global industry experts.
- Generate innovative and engaging content ideas tailored to the interests of SiGMA News’ audience.
- Engage, network, and communicate with top-tier operators, industry experts, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders in Italy.
- Edit and proofread articles for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to our editorial standards and house style.
- Attend and report from SiGMA and non-SIGMA events.
- Work with the SiGMA marketing team to promote content across various channels.
- Use social media platforms to share SiGMA News content, engage with audiences, and enhance the reach of SiGMA’s reporting.
- Support the News Team in implementing SEO optimisation processes to increase the visibility and ranking of our content.
- Ensure all content adheres to legal guidelines and ethical standards of journalism.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of SiGMA News editorial processes and workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of journalistic principles, including objectivity, fairness, and accuracy.
- Proficient in researching and gathering information from various sources, including interviews, databases, and online platforms.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to create compelling and error-free news content.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work.
- Familiarity with technical SEO principles to optimize content for search engines and basic HTML knowledge for content formatting.
