The role:
As a Junior Data Engineer, you will be joining a growing team, dedicated to predicting the outcome of sporting events. Your role will sit between the Data Science and Database Administrator teams, acting as a go-between to translate quantitative requirements for the datasets and automate data checks to ensure reliability. You will also create and manage reporting tools used to assist key business decisions.


What you will be doing:

  • Supporting data workflows for the quantitative team
  • Implementing data quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Automating checks and reporting services on in-house datasets
  • Generating reports and building interactive visualisations (e.g., in Tableau or similar tools)
  • Producing clean and clear documentation for the datasets and procedures

What you need for this role:

  • Quantitative background (e.g. STEM degree)
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Ability to implement basic data validation/quality processes
  • Good communication and documentation skills
