The Data Science team is looking for a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to design and develop scalable data pipelines, optimize data workflows, and implement cloud-based solutions to support advanced analytics for the Business Intelligence unit. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS and Snowflake, and a passion for building robust, high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-based data architectures and pipelines using AWS services, dbt, Snowflake, and Airflow/Astronomer.
• Develop ETL workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and processing, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable, efficient data solutions.
• Optimize existing data pipelines and systems to enhance performance and reduce costs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance within cloud environments.
• Document processes, system architectures, and workflows.

Qualifications

Essential

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based environments.
• Experience in AWS cloud services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, and IAM.
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data querying and optimization in Snowflake.
• Proficiency with dbt for data modeling and transformation.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Astronomer.
• Understanding of data architecture principles, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).

Desirable

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with Python for scripting and automation.
• Exposure to other data tools or platforms, such as Databricks or Kafka.
• Knowledge of data visualization platforms like Power BI or Tableau.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of working independently.
