Senior Product Designer - Engagement

What’s the position?

We are looking to hire a Senior Product Designer for our newly formed Engagement Team, with a focus on creating a gamification experience that makes our members feel appreciated and encourages them to keep playing/betting with us. This role will work on maturing our player experience, along with growing adoption and retention. You will play a crucial role in creating innovative gamification features that keep our customers engaged and coming back for more.

Key Responsibilities

• Create Engaging Game Mechanics: Develop innovative features that keep players excited and invested in the sportsbetting or casino experience.
• Optimize Player Progression: Strategically balance game elements to create a rewarding and challenging player journey.
• · Optimize Customer Engagement: Create personalized experiences that cater to individual preferences and maximize customer engagement.
• Enhance User Experience: Design intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that seamlessly integrate sportsbetting and casino content.
• Innovate: Explore emerging online gaming technologies and trends to identify opportunities for product innovation and feature differentiation.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers and engineers to develop and execute effective engagement strategies. Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless implementation of design specifications.
• Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Monitor latest trends in online gaming and consumer engagement to ensure that our offerings remain competitive.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize product concepts and gather feedback.
• User/player-centric approach: Strive to understand and satisfy players' needs.
• Data-driven. Continuously analyze user data and feedback to refine and improve gamification features, boosting engagement.

What are we looking for?

• Game Design Expertise: 5+ years of experience designing and delivering successful mobile games including the use of engagement mechanics (i.e. achievements, leaderboards, progression systems, unlockables, social interactions, etc.)
• Strong Design Skills: Proven ability to create engaging and user-friendly interfaces.
• UX Knowledge: Deep understanding of UX principles and best practices.
• Design Tools: Proficiency in Figma, Adobe, and prototyping software.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently, handle uncertainty effectively and adapt to changing situations.
• Experience in delivering medium to large-scale projects independently or with some support from senior ICs or Managers
• The ability to explain your work, process, and decisions and seek feedback to help you produce your best work.
• Passion for Gaming: Genuine interest in the online gaming industry and a desire to create exceptional customer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

• Degree in related fields (e.g., HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Interaction Design)
• Startup mindset and ability to work efficiently with limited resources
• Experience working in the sportsbook and casino industry.

This role will be based in Austin, TX. This role offers a hybrid work option, meaning you can both work from home and commute to our Austin office, depending on what’s best for you and when it's important for your team to be together.
