Senior Specialist, Data Protection & Compliance Operations

Your team

Reporting to the Data Protection & Compliance Operations Senior Manager, the Senior Specialist is responsible being a senior subject matter specialist in the areas of data protection, privacy, responsible and compliant use of artificial intelligence (“AI”), and other data-specific compliance operations.

What you’ll do

  • Crafting developing, embedding and maintaining DP&C operational frameworks, including (as required) operational models, policies, standards, procedures, processes and guidance.
  • Continuous improvement of the frameworks, constantly challenging the status quo to ensure operations are as smart and efficient as possible.
  • Using Flutter UKI’s capabilities and technologies (e.g. automated workflows, AI, etc.) as part of the continuous improvement approach.
  • Customer-focused design with a focus on reducing engagement friction and growing self-serve capabilities.
  • Ongoing governance and assurance on the frameworks
  • Subject matter expertise across data protection impact assessments, data subject rights, regulator investigations, legal cases, personal data breaches, data sharing and international transfers, lawful basis considerations (e.g. legitimate interest assessments), online tracking/cookies/e-privacy/ad-tech considerations, marketing, technology, and more.
  • Being the primary point of liaison for the UKI Legal team on data sharing contractual concerns, risks and guidance.
  • Being responsible for transparency activities within DP, privacy, AI and data compliance.
  • Coordinating DP&C Ops programmes and projects, including directly leading on these.
  • Reporting on progress, seeking approvals, handling vendor relationships, etc. as appropriate.

How you’ll do it

  • Third level qualification in field of study covering or closely related to data protection/privacy, such as law or technology. 
  • Proven specialist knowledge and experience in data protection, privacy and responsible AI.
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining data protection and privacy frameworks within a large enterprise.
  • Experience in operational process management and improvement.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Confident, assured presentation/communication, customer management and influencing skills.
