Our teams of technical experts specialize in harnessing live sporting data, using advanced cloud technologies, Java, JavaScript and Python. It is these tech teams that enable us to extract patterns through AI and Machine Learning and deliver our insights via APIs. In short, they turn complex data into magical experiences with cutting-edge technology.
We are looking for a Software Engineer for our Data Engineering Platform team to help extend functionality our Gold Standard Data Platform. The GSDP is our strategic platform for internal data distribution amongst our product suites. The GSDP ingests data from across wide range of sources and sports within Stats Perform, processes it, and then makes it available to our products through various APIs and event streams. Our data platform follows data mesh principles which is very modern approach used by increasing number of industry leaders. Machine learning and heavy AI workloads are one of the most important use-cases for our platform.
As a member of the Opta Search Backend squad you will be tasked to develop a new data engineering pipeline focused on processing large sports data sets from both historical databases as well as live data streams within modern analytical data store as well as exposing the data via GraphQL API to front-end of actively used product.
Our data platform is fully cloud native running on Amazon Web Services using wide range of bleeding edge technologies. The most important pieces of the tech stack are Starrocks data warehouse, Kafka data streams, Kubernetes and serverless lambda function based orchestration, ELK stack and Prometheus + Grafana monitoring systems. The language of choice is Python and partially NodeJs. Our team fully owns large portion of these technologies and solves problems end to end from infrastructure design to business logic implementation.
As a Software Engineer you will be expected to work independently, help solve technical challenges, design pieces of the infrastructure and be an example in following best practices.

We are looking for a person who is an experienced professional engineer who is able to design and build data processing pipelines. Experience with AWS and data platforms is highly beneficial as well as passive knowledge of NodeJs.
